Virtual CCID and 2048bit key

Hello!

I need to use a crypto key in the guest system (only Shared). When I select Shared Aladdin Token JC 0, I can only work with a 1024bit key, with 2048bit the system cannot work.

Best Regards,

Anton

Version of Workstation?

Host OS and version?

Guest OS and version?

Is the crypto key something physical or software-based?

If physical, how is it connected to the host system and how is it presented to the VM?

Hello @scott28tt !

Workstation : VMware Workstation 16 Pro 16.1.0 build-17198959
Host OS version : Windows 10 Home, 64-bit (Build 17134.1345) 10.0.17134 (1803). I tried on other versions too (1809)
Guest OS : Edition - Windows 10 Pro 20H2, 64 bit, (Build 19042.746)/

Crypto Key is physical.

When I insert a new(!) Crypto key into the USB port and select "Shared Aladdin Token JC 0" from Removable Devices, it will only be possible to work with a 1024bit key. If disconnect "Shared Aladdin Token JC 0" and connect "Aladdin Knowledge Token JC" (from Removable Devices), then will work fine (1024 and 2048 bits). Then reboot the guest OS and select "Shared Aladdin Token JC 0" again, then the system will work with a 2048 bit key,  will be able to encrypt the message, but there will be an error during decryption.

Best Regards,

Anton

This might be related to USB versions, have a search in this area for other posts about keys and USB versions.

I have tried all USB versions. When i using Shared Token Key and 2048bit key length, there is always a decryption error. Does not work only when using a 2048 bit key length, 1024 bits always works. But my keys are only 2048 bits length and I cannot convert them to 1024. How can I see the detailed log of access to the shared yusb?

Best Regards,

Anton
