It seems that the VTune and VMWare kernel modules are incompatible. If I run a sampling session using VTune (running on the HOST, not inside VMWare on the guest), while I also have a VMWare guest running, the machine essentially crashes. I get a "double fault" message and a crash from VMWare, and the host becomes unresponsive, requiring a hard reboot.
This is with the VTune 9.1.0 on Linux (Fedora 9 x86_64, updated to last fixes) and VMWare 6.5.3 build-185404.
Any chance this is fixed in Workstation 7? It seems that it at least shouldn't crash the physical machine...
