VMware workstation 15 together with Vmware player 15

Hi

I was told to install both VMware workstation 15 and VMware player 15.

after installing VMware workstation 15, and trying to install VMware player 15, im facing the following error:

VMware Player cannot install alongside VMware Workstation. please uninstall VMware workstation before attempting to install VMware Player.

Welcome to the Community,

that won't work. You can only install one, or the other.

What's the reason for installing Player if you already have Pro installed?

honestly, i have never worked with any of them.

i just asked to be ready with:

Please download and install VMware Workstation 14, VMware Fusion 10, or VMware Workstation Player 14 or higher versions on your system prior to class beginning.

from your answer i can understand that just 1 of them needed.

Yes, only one of these products can be installed on a single system. Either VMware Fusion on a MAC, or Player/Pro on Windows, or Linux.

Player is free for Non-Commercial use, and the other two products come with a 30-day evaluation period.

Hi @TheCrystalNinja There are different versions of Workstation Player and VMware Player, do you have any older versions as there might not be an upgrade path and instead are seen as blockers?
