VMware tools installed, but cursor still requires ctrl+alt

Installed Ubuntu guest on win XP desktop. Installed VMware tools, (now have larger screen, and no message on the bottom stating that I do not have VMware tools installed). Yet I must still do ctrl+alt to be able to more the cursor from the VM to the desktop???

What VMware product are you using, so that we can move this to the appropriate forum?

Downloaded the file vmmouse_drv.so from http://intr.overt.org/vmware-xorg-7.0/i386/ and put it in /usr/lib/xorg/modules/input

Change the xorg.conf so that the mouse input driver is vmmouse and not mouse
