VMware tools doesn't work on Fedora 8

VMWare 6.0.2 - After installing vmware tools on Fedora-8, and rebooting, the tools don't work. The screen stays small, and when I halt, vmware says I don't have the tools installed. Any ideas?

Did you run the configure?

vmware host is running on ubuntu. I've already built and installed xp and w2k ok. redhat 8 installs ok, and then I tell the host software to mount the vmware tools on the running redhat 8, and it does. Then I right click on the rpm file to install the toolkit on redhat 8. It installs without error. I then reboot the box. On reboot, the vmware host thinks the vmware tools have not been installed.

Oops, rtfm to me. I didn't run vmware-config-tools.pl at the end. For the windoz clients, I didn't have to.

I ASS-UMED such scripts would have been added to the RPM file, but they were not.

Thx
