I'm running VMware workstation 7.1.2 on windows 7 with a windows XP guest. I've got three monitors, I have host applications on one and the guest stretched across the other two. Every morning when I get to my desk the guest has collapsed to one monitor and the toolbar has disappeared, so I can't minimize, restore down, move to another monitor or cycle multiple monitors. It appears to be when my workstation has been locked for a while and the displays have gone to sleep. The guest resolution doesn't change - it has a long horizontal scrollbar. I've looked very closely at all the options in VMtools and in the workstation controls but to no avail. The only solution is to shut down or suspend the guest and restart it. I need to know how to either prevent it from losing the multiple monitors setup, restore the toolbar so I can move it around, or restore down from fullscreen with a hotkey. Any ideas?
