VMware Workstation

Please help, I would like my virtual machines on vmware workstation to be able to see a database service on my host O/S. How do I configure this? I am stupid when it comes to virtualizing an environment.

Unless the VM needs access to other systems, or the Internet, you may configure the VM with "Host Only" networking. If access to other systems is required configure NAT networking. Both options will allow you to connect to the host through VMware's virtual network adapter on the host OS.
