Just a quick SWAG here but I would check permissions. Are you/Have you tried installing as administrator? Error 183 usually implies "Already Exists".

If that doesn't solve it, you might try starting the installer from the command prompt and see if any other error messages pop up.

I am logged as admin, ill check it out and give you some info...

No errors via cmd, i even cleaned all the temp files and it still starts and closes instantly.

I can give you remote access to my machine but i doubt you can find out anything i havent/wouldn't tell you...

I think i may be because of the SP3 but no idea...

IF all fails ill just try to unpack it on some other machine and copy the temp files...

Installation must be performed by administrator. Here is an indication that it was not:

bAdmin = FALSE

Allright, i am the owner of this pc, the user account i am using to post this message is the only one and it HAS administrative rights, a testament to that is the 50gb of software installed here some of which also required admin rights.

So specify your suggestion.

"The built-in Administrator account is hidden from Welcome Screen when a user account with Administrator privileges exists and enabled" - and that is the case here.

The failure is at extracting as far as i can gather, since its fails at preparation not installation.

P.S.

And guess what, i just logged in as the built in admin account, and it still fails the same way. So feel free to gamble some other guess.

Sorry I wasted your time.

Nvm me I'm cranky over some stuff, any way can anybody suggest anything as good as the VM Workstation, i just need a separate OS to do some things on ... Seemingly how you get no real support in here which is a quite encouraging point telling you NOT to buy crap form VMware, not to mention i filed in a letter about this some time ago, no response.

I would use administrator account to install VMware Workstation product.

It is quite possible that helen acount, that you use, is missing some security setting or privledge.

Yes, I did read. What stops you from using administrator account?

Sorry, I missed it.

There might be something wrong with your system.

Did you try to run prolonged stress tests and memory checks to make sure that everything is fine?

Otherwise your OS might be corrupted. I suggest to reinstall.

Do you REALLY believe that i can give you detailed specifics about my pc, know about the built in admin account talk as i do and NOT guess what you just told me. And whats the guarantee this isn't because of SP3. Everything else works fine. In any case ill have a test drive soon enough, i'll either do a fresh install on a office pc or go refresh one of my friends they always seem to need reinstalling hahaha. If it works on their systems i got something wrong here. And my other option is to unpack the installer on another pc and use the files to install.

I was just hoping it was sp3 related and a fix came out ...

Absolutely amazing find! I was having the exact problem of the installer starting up and shutting down instantly.

I stopped the "FixCamera.exe" process using task manager and the installer worked!

leeg123 I don't know how you found this, but thank you very much.
