VMware Workstation - still sucks with 4k monitor or am i still doing something wrong?

All of my guest VMs (both Linux and Windows) still have big resolutions and the OS is very tiny. I can adjust the resolution in the VM itself but it doesn't fix everything for me.

Is there finally a solution to this? Using Windows 10.1 and VMware Workstation 12

It seems that the autofit is not working well.

1. Please make sure you have installed the latest tools which is with WS by: right click->vm->Install VMware Tools.

2. check if the autofit is checked: go to tab and select View->Autosize->Autofit Guest

Any idea if there is any ETA on when this could possibly be fixed? Autofit is working, but the resolution is still tiny.
