VMware Workstation Pro 14.0.0-6661328 on OpenSUSE 42.3 woks just fine.

Hi,

Just want to say thanks for VMware Workstation (Linux) team for building usable product.. I'm newcomer from Windows desktop, decided to use OpenSUSE Leap and used to have problems with  previous (12) version of Workstation Pro on my system.. But after upgrading it looks like it works properly this time. Kernel 4.4.92-31.

Roger that. Compiled fine on my Thinkpad T61 running OpenSuse 42.3 as well.

However when I tried opening a VM I received the following error message,

“This host does not support “Intel EPT” hardware assisted MMU virtualization.
This host does not support virtualizing real mode. The Intel “VMX Unrestricted Guest” feature
is necessary to run this virtual machine on an Intel processor.
Module ‘CPUIDEarly’ power on failed.
Failed to start the virtual machine.“

Looks like the new WS 14 does not like older processors.

Glad that I had not purchased a license as yet...
