VMware Workstation Growing ONLY in default folder

Hi,

I have a VMware oddity that I cannot figure out.  I am utilizing 3 separate physical disks for drive intensive applications and storage.  My default folder for VMware is located on my C: drive.  I have 3 separate VMD's on 3 separate physical disks.  As I add data to these disks in the VM somehow my root VMware default folder keeps growing out of control & adding data to VMDK files in the default install location rather than my other physical drives.  What have I done wrong here or what exactly is happening?

Add a screenshot of the VM settings in relation to the virtual disks.

I may have found the culprit, even though the files are showing recent access dates they are old snapshots.  I have deleted the files and haven't had any issues with the VM since.
