VMware Workstation 14 and Norton Ghost v14

Is it possible to restore a Norton Ghost Windows XP disk image to a Windows XP virtual machine?

Thank you for your help.

I managed to solve my problem by creating a VMX using the free vConvert utility which I installed and ran on the WinXP PC. Creating the VMX of the local machine was a cinch. Then I brought the VMX over to my VMware Workstation 14 and *simply* opened up the VMX -- voilà!

Beautiful 🙂

This use case was supported in the past: https://www.vmware.com/pdf/p2v_thirdpartyimage.pdf.

I'm not sure about the particulars today but this may help you get started: https://www.vmware.com/products/converter.html.
