VMware Workstation 12.5 and Intel 7th Performance Counters

I have host with Core i7 7700HQ and it seems like Workstation doesn't support its performance monitor counters due its version ID == 4. When I start VM with "Virtualize CPU performance counters" enabled I get error "Virtualized performance counters are not supported on the host CPU type. Module 'VPMC' power on failed. Failed to start the virtual machine".

Maybe someone have idea how I can workaround the issue?

May I know which host and guest OS do you use ? Also which CPU mode do you choose to boot up your VM ?

The host and the guest are Windows 10. CPU mode is Automatic but I tried different ones. Also Intel VTX/EPT is enabled.
