I am running vmWare Pro workstation 16.2.4 on Windows 11.
I created a Rocky Linux vm and am using the NAT network adapter.
When I start the VM I can ping from the host to the VM and from the VM to the host. Everything is working as I expect.
When I connect the host to a cisco AnyConnect VPN I loose the link between the VM and host. The VM can connect to a gitlab server not on the host, but not a direct link to the host via the hosts IP.
I have tried starting the VM before and after the host connects to the VPN with no success.
I have also tried using Bridged network adapter starting the vm before and after the host connects to the VPN.
What settings do I need to include to allow the host and VM to talk to each other when the host is connected to a VPN ?
Thank you
Many VPNs will block traffic on other routes when they are active. Are any other network paths besides the VMware ones able to work when the VPN is active?
No I do not see any other network paths available except the VPNs
