Do you know what causes this problem?

This also occurs with Windows XP SP1 or lower.

VMWare Workstation 16.2.5

VMConfig: VMware 6.0
CPU: 1 Core | RAM: 512MB.
Floppy | HDD: SCSI.

Host: 

Core i7 3770 | 10GB RAM DDR3 1600 | GTX 1050Ti | Windows 10 Pro For Workstations 22H2.

Is the drive NTFS or Fat? NTFS is usually better for these VMs. Also I would remove the floppy drive from the hardware just to make it cleaner. Also this error suggests that there is some background database reaching its limits here, what is the host spec?

The Drive is NTFS, the host spec is in problem description, or what spec?

On the other hand, any database in the background? I really don't know what it could be.

The error message mentions "string too long".  Is a file name very long when it's trying to do the copying?  There is a limit on the combination of path+filename.  Something to investigate, at least.
