I get the same 'unrecoverable' error notification on two Vista computers after installing an evaluation download of VMware 6.0.4 and rebooting ...
'Cannot get temporary directory for log file.
Works just dandy on Xp.
Haven't found pertinent fix yet after googling & scanning the vmware community -- seems like a permissions issue with one of the VMware services being loaded?
Would appreciate any help on this,
