VMWare workstation 9.0.1 build-894247 on Windows 8 freezes system

Hi,

I am evaluating workstation 9.1  I run Windows 8 x64 Enterprise on a Dell precession 6600 with 16gb RAM and a i72720Qm processor

It has a Crucial M4 250gb SSD.

When I use a image and for example download a file on the host my HDD light starts blinking and my system freezes. I can do some actions but they take very long. When I press the pause button after 5 mins the vm's is paused and when I close workstation my system responds again.

Any ideas?

Hi,

I had a similar symptom: I ran VMWare Workstation 9.1 as trial. All my Windows 7-64 virtual machine run fine. After upgrading one machine from version 8 to version 9, it freezes up after booting (same symptoms as you had). I used the Workstation 8 virtual version of this machine and it runs fine again.

Hi,

Its not my vm's that are freezing. Its my host.
