VMWare to see my physical drive

Hi, I have a VMWare environment with Win2k3 as the OS. I need to be able to see my physical harddrive.

I attempted to do the File->Import process to be able to see my physical local drive When I get to the "Destination login", its asking me for Server IP address of the VirtualCenter, and admin UID & PWD.

My environment does not have a UID & PWD (when I log into the VMWare, it gets me straight into the OS, without login prompts). Do I have to have a UID & PWD?

I also tried to connect thru VM->Settings-> Add

When I do add the physical drive, I get an error saying :

"failed to add disk ide0:0"

Any advice?

In VMWare Workstation you can set up shared folders between the host and the guest: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1220347

The original OS of my machine is Vista. I installed VMWare, then installed win2k3 inside the VMWare.

What is "host" & what is "guest" ?

Vista is your host operating system and Win2k3 is your guest.
