VMWare thinks VT is Disabled

Hello.

I'm trying to create a Vista x64 virtual machine in VMWare Workstation ACE Edition version 6.0.2 buile-59824

I'm using the pre-sets for Vista x64 Edition. As soon as I start the virtual machine, I get a message saying:

"This CPU is VT capable, but VT is disabled, check BIOS/firmware"

I have an Abit IP35 Pro motherboard and an Intel E8400 CPU; I've confirmed that "Virtualization Technology" is Enabled in BIOS. Any ideas?

Download vt.iso, burn CD, boot host with it to see if there is a VT related problem.

Also, if you just enabled VT in the BIOS and haven't done a complete shutdown and restart it might not see it. A regular restart isnt' enough.

Even though I already had VT turned on in BIOS, doing a total shut down and powering back on seems to have done the trick. Thanks Smiley Happy
