VMWare guest OS not seeing NIC

So, getting pretty annoyed with alot of things here.

I have VMware 12 Pro.

I managed to image a laptop and convert it into a virtual machine using Acronis backup and recovery 11.7 (THAT was a PITA)

The image is a Win10 Enterprise x64 OS.

I am able to boot it and everything but it does not see the network card even though in VMWare I added a network card.

any ideas on how to get the image to see the network card? I even installed VMware tools using the ISO and nothing.

Attach the vmx file for this guest here - to see what the virtual NIC settings are.

Welcome to the Community,

please try changing the guest OS to "Windows 10" in the VM's settings (it's currently "other").

If this doesn't already solve the issue, add ethernet0.virtualDev = "e1000" to the .vmx file.

Thank you.

OK, did that. One step closer!

Right now it is saying unidentified network.

so, I need for it to be able to access the host as well as the internet (on the host).

In this case I'd suggest that you set the VM's network to "NAT".
