Hello,
I am just wondering if i take a copy of VMWare folder(containing my virtual machine details) and paste it in another PC - will it work same way ?
is it good way of backing up ?

Yes, you can do this... it's one of the great benefits of virtualization (portability of machines). Make sure the guest is not running when you make the copy. Also, it's better if the guest is shut down (not suspended) when you copy it.
