VMWare Workstation window won't stay maximimized

I keep coming across an annoying problem in VMWare Workstation which I would have thought would have been fixed by now. The problem is that VMWare forgets the fact that its window was maximized - either the last time it was running or, more annoyingly, when returning from full screen mode. Is there a way of fixing VMWare so it remembers it was maximized and stays maximized?

Well, I may be wrong. But it seems that the logic here is: fullscreen is a type of "maximize". Same thing happened to the "quick switch" mode next to the "full screen" button.
