VMWare Workstation v14 after reformat and re installation Snapshot problem

Hi Guys,

After reformatting my computer and re-installing VMWare Workstationv14 I am able to add my previously created Virtual Machine but I cannot figure out how to open the snapshots I took associated with this Virtual Machine.

How do I add the snapshots back into the snapshot manager?

Any Help Would Be Greatly Appreciated,

Jim

Details about snapshots (i.e. what you see in the Snapshot Manager) are stored in the VM's .vmsd file. Does this file exist in the VM's folder, and contain data? In case you are unsure, please attach the .vmsd file along with the configuration (.vmx) file to a reply post. A complete list of files in the VM's folder (the output of: dir *.* /one) might also be helpful.

What about the question I asked about the .vmsd file? Does it exist, and contain metadata about the snapshots?

Hi,

Yes they are there, see my previous post I included a screenshot.jpg of everything in the folder.

PMJI, but that screenshot only displays that the .vmsd file exists, not that it has snapshot data in there and if that is being used.

If you want Andre to be able to help you with your problem then please supply the info as asked, screenshots do not help much unfortunately.

Eg:

In case you are unsure, please attach the .vmsd file along with the configuration (.vmx) file to a reply post. A complete list of files in the VM's folder (the output of: dir *.* /one) might also be helpful.
