VMWare Workstation unrecoverable error: (vthread-9)

I built a new host on Win 8.1 64-bit. I tried building a new Win 7 guest and the guest always boots and VMWare crashes with the error in the title.

In the crash log I see:

2015-01-24T13:57:14.328-05:00| vthread-9| I120: VTHREAD initialize thread 9 "vthread-9" host id 4840

2015-01-24T13:57:14.328-05:00| vthread-9| I120: POLL SocketPoll thread bad return value -1 from select, error 10045 (The attempted operation is not supported for the type of object referenced)

2015-01-24T13:57:14.328-05:00| vthread-9| I120: POLL  totalSockets 0

How do I fix this?

Please upload the entire vmware.log as an attachment (When composing a reply, look for the Browse... button above the Post Message button, and use that to attach the file.  Please don't copy-and-paste the whole thing into the message!)

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply.

I needed to get a workstation going so I gave up and used Virtual-PC.

I had a look for the logs and it seems they were deleted by the un-install of Workstation.

The logs should be inside the virtual machine's directory.  Uninstalling workstation does not touch the virtual machines themselves, so the logs should definitely still be there as long as the VM hasn't been deleted.  Feel free to post back to this thread if you need to switch back to VMware Workstation for whatever reason, and I'll peek into your logs then.

Cheers,
