VMWare Workstation 9 - Stopping deployment

Using VMWare Workstation 9, we have a virtual machine with the following features:

O.S: Windows 7 Enterprise Edition – 32 bits

RAM: 4GB

Virtual Disk: 27 GB (3 GB free)

In this virtual machine we have installed the application server JBoss version 7.1.1 and we are trying to deploy a java web application but the deploy fails. The JBoss log just not shows a specific source of the error, just log “Stopping deployment”.

The error occurs if we execute the virtual machine from an internal hard disk of any of the Windows versions (7, 8, Server 2008 running on 64 bits), but if we execute the virtual machine from the same real machines but using the an external hard disk, the deploy of the web application is successful. Take into account that  the virtual machine is not altered when is executed from the external hard disk. We just copied it to the external disk.

We tried to alter:

• The free space of the virtual disk
  
• Reduce the number of processors
  
• Run the virtual machine over different real machines of different machine vendors (dell, hp, Toshiba)
  
• Use VMWare Player 5
  

But the result is the same if the virtual machine runs over an internal hard disk. The deploy into JBoss fails

We used a different hyper visor with the same virtual machine, running it from an internal  hard disk and the deploy of the web application is successful.
