VMWare Workstation 17 PRO , reboot ( not resume) after a power outage

Hi,

I have a VM running on Workstation Pro 17. I need to reboot ( not resume) the VM after a power outage of the host server ( Win2019 srv).
So far all the possibile solution found ,  batch invoked at reboot , service with automaticly  starting at host restart make a resume of the VM with the last state and program running and not a full reboot of the VM .

Any suggestion on how to manage this condition and have a fool reboot of the VM?

vmrun can boot a VM, BUT:

After a power failure, you may have lck files and folders that will have to be moved/removed. You could write a script to do this.

If you use vmrun at bootup, you will have to use nogui because no one is logged on. If you need GUI, you will have to run vmrun after  logon.

IMHO, perhaps running in ESXi is a better solution.

Thanks Lou for the suggestions, at the end I found as correct behaviour the configuration described in the article
