I have the above setup (more details available if needed) and trying to do some very lightweight tasks in the VM (editing text files, not running anything), but the VM keeps going unresponsive. I've tried following a variety of different approaches found online, but everything either relates to Windows host, older Linux kernel versions, or older VMWare versions. I sometimes (but not always) see the host CPU monitor jump to 100% on all processor cores, despite the VM only having access to a limited subset of resources. It's making my job very painful, since I need to use VMs for a variety of tasks. Any suggestions?
