VMWare Workstation 15 image corrupts after power failure

Using Vmware Workstation 15.5.1 with Windows 10 Enterprise

I have noticed that when there is a power cut and the host is restarted, the guest image can corrupt. ( I am running Windows 2000 on the guest )

(Error message  = WINNT\STSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM is missing or corrupt)

I have simulated more power cuts and sometimes on reboot I get a message that the VM appears to already be in use, other times the Windows 2000 image corrupts .

I have just upgraded from version 12.5.9 to 15.5.1 and this issue didn't happen on 12.5.9.

Does VMWare 15 attempt to write a snapshot or suspend state to the disk in the split second it detects a power cut ?

Thanks
