Good Evening,
I apologize in advance if this is not the right place to post such type of question.
If it isn't please let me know where I can post or this message to.
My name is Ricardo.
I'm using VMWare Workstation 15 Pro to create all sorts of virtual machines, I have it installed under Linux Mint 20.3 Una 64bit version 5.4.0-155-generic, and i've been having an error message with only some of the VM's I've created, and this error message seems to popup only for VM's I haven't used for more than a month, this doesn't happen for VM's I use everyday or almost everyday, I've got 2 or 3 VM's I use almost everyday, they were created more then 2/3 months ago and this message never pops up when these are running.
So for the VM's I haven't used for more than a month and when I start them up the message error pops up several times at boot time says:
The operation on file "/media/username/sdx/VMs/VMWare/nameofvm.vmdk"failed.
If the file resides on a remote file system, make sure that the network connection and the server where this disk resides are functioning properly. If the file resides on removable media, reattach the media.
Select Retry to attempt the operation again.
Select Cancel to power off the virtual machine.
Select Continue to forward the error to the guest operation system.
As these VM's boot up this message pops up several times, I always click on the option Continue until the VM's finishes booting up, once it gets to the login screen and I enter my credentials and press Enter, once I have the Desktop in front of me this message stops popping up!!!
Again this message only pops up for the VM's that I haven't used for more than a month!
All VMWare VM's they're not on the main OS's SSD but on a separate internal SSD.
The OS is on sda, the VMWare VM's are on sdd.
I'm sending a printscreen of the error attached.
Any idea what might be causing this?
Thank you very much,
Kind regards,
Ricardo,
