VMWare Workstation 10 Restricted VM and Network Adaptor Settings

I have built a VM that gets handed out to all of our employees. The VM contains all of the software that they will need to use on a daily basis. Previously, I had this built in Workstation 6.5 and built an ACE package that had an expiry policy set up. I have since upgraded to Workstation 10 and am working on rebuilding the VM. Doing some testing now, and I have no problem setting up an expiration date and locking down the settings in the VM. The problem is that our employees will often need to be able to change between NAT and Bridged mode in the Network Adaptor, and right now, without the master password, they won't be able to get in and make these changes. If they have access to the Master Password, then they will have access to removing the expiration date.

Is there a way around this that I am missing?

Under the circumstances you've describe, not wanting to give the Users the password, the only obvious solution is to make the Virtual Machine multi-homed.  Then with having two network adapters, one set to NAT and the other set to Bridged, and with one or the other disconnected the Users can then toggle the Connected/Disconnected state of the network adapters as needed.  Toggling the state of the network adapter can be done from the VM > Removable Devices menu.
