VMWare Tools devices tab gone?

Jump to solution

I upgraded from Workstation 7 to 9. I've noticed the new VMWare Tools in the guest windows vm no longer have a devices tab. Is it still possible to list or see available usb host devices in the guest, and how does that work? Thanks

The VMware Tools GUI was reduced in version 9, and most functionality is now available through a command line utility only.

See VMware Front Experience: The VMware Tools GUI is gone - Now what? for details.

Click the VM main menu item (or right click the VM's Tab header, or right click the VM's line in the Library window, and select Removable devices.
