I'm having an awful time trying to get host machine printers accessible to a Win98 Guest OS; VMWare Tools installation on a Win98 Guest OS just is not giving the option to install a printer driver... .vmx file is attached at the end of the file for review if needed.
Any ideas?
AFAIK Thinprint just does not work with Win98 VMs
or let me put it this way - I have not heard of any success story yet
cant you use the good old fashioned way of sharing a printer via network ?
Anyone? Any ideas at all?

That is very helpful to know! Unfortunately the only reason I need the Win98 VM is for a legacy DOS application that outputs printer data on a parallel port or serial port only. I was hopeful when I read that ThinPrint uses a serial port on the guest OS that it might pass through printer commands from the DOS application to a printer connected to the host. I'm not sure if ThinPrint would work this way, but I was willing to try.
Unfortunately Win98 is the latest version of Windows on which my DOS app works, so I think this solution is ruled out for lack of ThinPrint support on the guest (if not for other reasons). Thank you very much for the answer!
