VMWare Static IP

Hi all,

I do have a problem: i'm using a VMware with static IP address (192.168.130.XXX) outside my domain . I can connect my host to the guest with no problems after create an adapter and assign the Subnet (192.168.130.XXX). But now I request access in the VM to the web and my computer is in other domain and doesn't use static IP address.

Any ideas? I tried also create a loopback in the VM to fix the IP and change the VM to NAT, the web connection worked by the guest doesn't recognize the VM anymore.

tks in advance.

I think the simplest solution is to use most of all builtin VM mechanics.

Unless you have strong reasons to manually configure static networks,

I would suggest simply use DHCP + NAT and everything works out-of-the-box Smiley Happy

tks, but I do have a reason to use static IP address, the VM holds an environment where the license is controled only by static IP.

Please post:

- "ipconfig /all" (Windows) or "ifconfig -a" Linux from guest AND host.

- the .vmx file of the guest

Can the host access the Internet?

yes... the host can access the internet, but remember that is a different domain from the guest. And the guest needs to have a static IP.
