I installed a fresh copy of VMWare Workstation 7 -- in fact, I reinstalled it -- only to have the following dialogue pop up when I attempt to start Wkstn:
"Application failure. hr = 0x80040101: Vmdb error -1: VMDB failure"
The install ran without a hitch, and without raising any potential problem.
There's no question this is a COM error code, but it doesn't leave me any the wiser as to what's happening.
This machine is running XP SP3.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening, and what I can do about it?
