VMMON, VMNET and others failing after reboot of linux host / SLES12 / SLES15

VMware workstation 15.5.1

After updating kernel / vmware workstation, the "missing" vmmon and other tools prevent vmware workstation to load. Recompiling does not work / fix the issue.

Only uninstalling / installing vmware workstation helps.

This is bad.. when will this be fixed ?? Is there a workaround available?

Hi,

i have the same problem after every kernel update on manjaro. Try this, this helped me:

# sudo vmware-modconfig --console --install-all
