VM's Can't Connect to Network -- Workstation Pro 16 / Windows 10

I am running Workstation Pro 16 on Windows 10.

When I power on a VM, it doesn't connect to a network.  When I go to settings and click the connect checkbox, I get:

**Quote**

Could not connect 'Ethernet0' to virtual network 'VMnet8'. More information can be found in teh vmware.log file.

failed to connect virtual device 'Ethernet0'.

**UnQuote**

This seems to be after a recent Windows 10 Update / Upgrade.

Help.

I figured it out.  The first thing I did is bring up a command window and invoke the

  c:\> route print

command, and I noticed that none of the virtual networks were included in the workstation's routing table.

I then brought up the VMWare's Workstation's virtual network editor and clicked around and applied the (non-existent) changes.  It saved something or other, and voila, the routing tables got populated.

The VM's have network connectivity now.
