VM goes to black screen after XP startup logo

Hi,

I've seen a few threads where people have had a similar issue, but not found any real resolution.

I have an XP SP3 image on a PC I need to preserve, but just get a black screen after the XP logo on booting. (This is using the current version of the converter and workstation 8, but had the same issues when I made a less serious attempt a while back with previous versions),

I can boot into safe mode, but have no idea what, if anything, I can do useful there!

Any pointers appreciated.

I've attached a log file.

Thanks

Marc

boot into safe mode and then disable the old video driver
I would think that that is the most probable reason

I was trying that as you replied.

I removed the nVidia software from the system, but that didn't make any difference on a normal boot (still black screen) and now when I go into safemode it's saying new hardware found (the graphics card).

How do you actually revert to the basic system driver?
