VM WS 6.0.2. Linux host FC7 kernel 2.6.21-1.3194. USB PDA (TMobile MDA Vario) not connecting - error messages

Hi,

I posted this problem in Fedora Forum and the only response I have received is

"it's a problem with VMware and USB."

I am not so sure, but I understand why I received the response (see the highlighted message). Anyway, I copy my original post below if anyone on this forum can help.

Thanks

Clive

Hi,

I successfully attach a range of USB devices to a machine running Fedora 7. The only device that has a problem attaching is a Windows Mobile 5 PDA (TMobile MDA Vario 2 = HTC device). I expect to see the device under Nautilus file manager as some kind of disk drive - but the PDA is not visible in Nautilus - I think the problem is "lower" in device detection and support. This device was supported under Fedora 5 kernel 2.6.something.

Is there a known bug and/or fix for this? Any idea what is causing this? Should I raise a bug? (never done that before).

The messages from dmesg are below.
