VM Freezes after displaying windows logo

When I try to open a VM that has previously worked, the opening Windows logo displays and times out ane the screen goes black.  I cannot proceed from this point.  I can select Shutdown Guest  and it will then take several minutes to stop the VM and allow me to exit Workstation.

I am running VM Workstation 15, Version: 15.1.0 build-13591040.  The VM in question is Win XP SP3.

Would you mind share us your VM configuration and logs with following step?

1. Reproduce this issue.

2. Open Workstation UI, click menu item "Help"->About VMware Workstation. In the dialog, you can see the logs location

3. Upload the "UI log file" and "VM log file"
