Using wifi but virtual machine says different

  • I have created Kali Virtual Machine and I am using Wifi in my host Windows 10.
  • Whenever I try to use the internet in Kali VM it shows the connection as Ethernet but it must be Wifi.
  • Help me with this (I want to use WiFi in guest OS without any USB adapter).

VMware Workstation acts as a virtual switch to VMs, thus the VMs will see a wired network connection.

If you need WiFi within a guest OS, you can e.g. pass-trough an USB WiFi adapter to the VM.

Not sure what your goal is here when you state "I want to use WiFi in guest OS without any USB Adapter".

Are you stating that you want to use only a Wireless network connection, with all the system Wireless settings/controls?  Or are you simply stating that you want the guest OS to have a network connection using your host's Wireless networking?

In the first case, the ONLY way is to pass through a USB Wireless NIC to the guest.  In the second case, if you use either Bridged or NAT network connection type for the guest, it should just work.
