Using a Live CD to "install to hard drive" - Live CD won't boot

Hey guys,

Trying to set up a Virtual Machine using a Live CD with an "install to hard drive" option.

I tried two methods, which theoretically I thought would work but neither do. Am I missing something or is this just not possible?

Method #1:

Created a new virtual machine, "other linux", then booted the VM with with Gparted Live CD, formated partitions.

Then tried to reboot using a Live CD (tried both a real CD and an .iso), get only a black screen (won't boot the live cd)

Method #2:

Created a new VM using "Red Hat Enterprise 4" and installed CentOS4.4, then, tried to boot using the Live CD I'm trying to install so I can select "install to HD", but the Live CD won't put here eitiher.

I used the same exact method to get the Live CD to install on a real physical machine, so I know this is possible on a real server.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Nat

LOL, solved my problem, and in case anyone else finds this thread having the same issue:

All I needed to do was enter the BIOS of the VM and change the boot order. I can't believe I didn't think of that before.
