Use VMWare to simulate an internet connection to a different IP

Ok, I apologize if this has been discussed before. I'm on a deadline and getting ready to leave the office and I really need an answer by the time I get back so I can get to testing. So if the answer is "search the forum" then I'll do that. Smiley Happy

What I need to do is simulate a connection from across the internet; such as a wifi connection in a different state. I need to connect a client application with a server app. I need the VMWare workstation to have a different IP address but still somehow work even though I am running it on the same machine that I need to connect with. Being able to lower the ethernet speed to 10 Mb or so would be great as well.

Thank you for any help and advice.

Something like guest1 routes via guest2 to guest3 which is in a different IP network?
