Use Host as Server

I would like to use my host as a SQL server. What I mean is: I wish to run an application from the VM Workstation (a website) and to use my host machine's OS as the DB server.

Is this possible?

--It's certainly \_possible_ but it may not be the \_best_ solution.

--The more resources you allocate to services on the host, you will find VM performance decreases. With light usage you may not notice/care too much, but if the website is at all busy then you may want to rethink the setup.

Host OS, RAM, available HD space, all make a difference...
