Upgraded from VM workstion 6.0.0 to 6.0.1 Solaris 9 network no longer works

I had set up a Solaris 9 VM without the tools so my network was using pcn0, after upgrading to 6.0.1 the network device pcn0 is not found during start.

I tried going through the hard discovery during the bootup process and it identifies the the PCI: AMD 79C970 PCnet Ethernet device but I still get the message:

ifconfig: plumb: pcn0: no such interface

Starting DHCP on primary interface pcn0

ifconfig: pcn0: interface does not exist

I tried installing Solaris 9 from scratch and the new version identifies the network device but on startup it is not found either.

Solaris 10 with vmtools installed works just fine.

Any suggestions for me to try before I downgrade back to 6.0.0?

Mike.

By selecting VM-> Upgrade or Change Version ... for the Solaris virtual machine and then selecting the Workstaion 5 Hardware Compatability, the workstion can detect and work with the hardware again.
