Upgrade VMW 6.0.3 to 6.0.4 noobie question

Hello all,

I'm running Workstation version 6.0.3.80004 on Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP1 (with XP Pro SP3 as the guest OS). When I try to install 6.0.4.93057, the Installer says previous version will be uninstalled.

Question: Does this mean I will lose my XP Pro guest OS from the previous version as well, and have to reinstall XP Pro, all drivers and software all over again? Is there a way to preserve all the previous settings, eg. export the virtual machine completely and import after the upgrade, or am I missing something here?

I've looked at all the help files and manuals for VMW and can't find a simple answer - most of the upgrade text is for previous verisons of VMW, ie ver 4.x/5.x to 6.x.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Oh no! Virtual machines will stay intact!

You may need to readjust Virtual Network Settings for VMnet1 and VMnet8 (NAT), but that is all.
