I just updated to Centos vmlinux-3.10.0-514.el7.x86_64
which is guest in Windows 8.1 using Vmware Workstation Pro 12.5.1
It broke all my shared folders and all efforts to get it going again have failed
including: 1) reinstall open-vm-tools-10..0.5-2.el7.ex86_64
2) manual start of vm-tools services as suggested in release notes
for Workstation 12.5.1 for Ubuntu 16.1
3) erase open-vm-tools and install VMware Tools from tar (10.0.1.4301679).
This fails because gcc supplied with new kernel reports errors in
code related to file sharing.
Any ideas on how I can get file sharing working again?
