Unity mode is not working with the Windows version of Workstation 6.5

It works fine on my computer when I use the Linux version. When I put a guest into Unity mode none of its currently opened windows come to the host system. If I put the guest into unity mode and launch apps using the new guest start bar above the Window's start bar, the apps will launch but will not be show on the host. I can see that the apps do launch in the guest when I exit Unity mode. I've uninstalled Workstation 6.0.4, rebooted, installed 6.5 and rebooted. I've used the following guest OSes: Windows XP sp1/sp2/sp3, Vista, Fedora Core 9 and the latest version of Ubuntu (all 32-bit versions). On the host I'm using Vista Home Premium 64bit with an Nvidia 8800 GTX. I've tried using both the latest released drivers and the beta drivers for the video card. I've also tried toggling almost all every option within the VMs. Here are the log entries before/after I invoke Unity mode. Any ideas? Thank you.

Here is the VM's log entries when I enter Unity mode:

The "failed to complete async op for authd connection" line makes me think that the authd service is not running. Can you check the services list (Start->Run->services.msc) and check if the VMware Authorization Service is running? If not, start it and try going into unity again.

The service is running, but when I look in the Eventviewer application log I see the following error "Cannot connect to VMX: G:\Virtual Machines\Windows XP Professional\Windows XP Professional.vmx". I receive this error for each VM that I open. The source of this error is 'vmauthd'. It looks like I have been receiving this error since I installed Workstation, but it hasn't affected me until I tried to use the Unity feature.
