Unable to use bluetooth device

I have created new virtual machine and installed Win XP there.

Usually I use skype and my bluetooth headphones - I pair device with my notebook and after that select it in Skype as device for speaker

When I pair my bluetooth headphones in main OS, I'm not able to select it in Skype installed on Win XP on my new virtual machine.

Please advise the solution.

Thanks in advance

You may have two oppurtunites.

One is to change how the physical sound devices map to the VM's sound devices (from the VMWorkstation menu, VM - > settings - > soundcard). Changes here may require a reboot of the guest VM to work correctly.

Another way that might work is to get a USB BlueTooth adapter, and connect it to the guest. Then you can hook up directly. I have had some minor issues in doing this (mainly related to having more than one blutooth device plugged into the host at the same time). The other issue is that VMWorkstation can sometimes have trouble using some USB devices on some hosts. I support a fleet of Laptops, and found that different USB Bluetooth adapters work with VMWare on different laptops.I have had very good luck purchasing different USB Bluetooth doggles on eBay and Meritline for about a dollar or so. Some are very small, andI have even been able to sometimes install one internally into a laptop that did not have bluetooth built in.

Good luck!

Hi Joe, thanks for response.

The second way is not applicable for me.

However I have done the following

VM - Settings - Sound card - and selected my bluetooth device from drop down menu.

It is shown as Speakers (Audio Bluetooth) and not as Bluetooth hands-free or headset.

However guest system still can't see the device inside.

Do you have any ideas what to do next?

Thanks in advance
