Hi All,
I have configured two Guest OS:Linux-5.8 on VMware Workstation-11 on Host OS:Windows-7. I am running Oracle OHS-11g servers on two Linux Servers. I can ping both Linux Guest OS from Host Win-7 OS but unable to do telnet to those Linux Servers with port 80 and 7777 (OHS is running). OHS services are up in both Linux Servers , both ports 80 and 7777 are open. I have tried with Bridged and Host-only Network Connection but no luck. The port 80 is open in Win-7 firewall. Snaps are attached.
The individual OHS services : http://linux1:7777/ and http://linux2:7777/ are opening fine in own Linux servers but I cann't access these URLs from Host Win-7 OS and alternative Linux Servers (i.e OHS1 URL is not opening on Linux2 server and OHS2 URL is not opening on Linux1 server).
Host Win-7 OS
=============
C:\>telnet 192.168.56.121 80
Connecting To 192.168.56.121...Could not open connection to the host, on port 80

C:\>telnet 192.168.56.121 7777
Connecting To 192.168.56.121...Could not open connection to the host, on port 77

Guest OS: Linux
=============
# netstat -tulpn | grep :80

# netstat -tulpn | grep :7777
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:7777 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 5696/httpd.worker
Host Win-7 OS has no static IP configured. It's the Win-7 wifi which detects office wifi and home wifi as connected (with some different IP range). Even I failed after disabling Firewall and Wi-Fi on Win-7.
Any help and information would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tusar
Can you attach the output of ifconfig -a from your Linux VM and ipconfig /all from your Windows 7 host ?

Seems like your VMware Workstation virtual machines are getting IP address from Virtual Box DHCP service, not 100% sure if this is the root cause of your problem, but try disable the Virtual Box DHCP service, make sure your virtual machines are getting IP address from VMware Workstation DHCP service and try again.
I disabled Virtual Box DHCP service. But no luck.
I have assigned static IP on Linux Servers.I tried to change all the VMware Adapters in 192.168.56.xxx range, but same problem. From where the VMware Network Adapters are picking up the IP Address. Even I can't access any Linux server using Putty (Linux Static IP, SSH Port:22) from Win-7.

please open telnet port from Windows Firewall or disable firewall,
same thing we need to do with Linux Machine either allow telnet port or disable firewall
I have already tried with opening both 80 & 7777 ports on Win-7, disabling Firewall on Windows-7 (McAfee), Ports (80, 7777) are open in Linux Servers where OHS is running but no luck.
I am not getting any clue what's wrong here to work telnet properly. I am stuck with NetScaler configuration for Load Balancer of OHS servers due to this connectivity issue in VMware.
Thanks,
Tusar
When you say you are unable to telnet, what is the symptom? There are many cases where Windows Telnet client to 'Nix telnet servers "doesn't work". If you are getting a blank screen, it could be that and using PuTTy in Raw mode will "fix" it.
If it just is not connecting or connection refused, can you telnet from one Linux guest to the other?
We just went through all that with a Linux telnet server that did not return a prompt to the initial connection and Windows Telnet client locked up.
Pardon me if I don't understand your symptom.
Edit: oops, pardon me, I now see that you got connection failed.
