Unable to join virtual PC to existing corporate domain from VMware Workstations 6.5.1

Hi Folks:

I am new to this big world...i installed VMware Workstation today and installed my office image for windows...after successfully installed, i tried several times to join my virtual PC to the existing domain...i found the virtual PC grabbed my office network's private IP address, even i can open office intranet page...but i am unable to join the machine to the domain...each time it is saying that unable to find the path...

it is necessary to join to the domain so that i can login with my normal user account instead of administrative privileged account...

hope someone will show some fire...

Regards, Palash

your VM network settings, should be configured with bridged, you are telling us that you are able to access internet. May be your configuration in the vm settings are NAT (NAT allows a VM to access internet)

have you tried to change that configuration?

ping your AD

Welcome to the forums!

Check your DNS configuration in th evirtual guest.

Post "ipconfig /all" from the guest and the domain controller (I assume that is a physical machine).

If the domain controller is a physical machien, check that your virtual NIC is a bridged one.
